Mighty Oaks

Forest Schools aren’t just for kids. The format has been used to benefit adults  in a range of situations from physical and mental well-being, to corporate team building, to aiding mental heath and addiction recovery.

As our lives become ever more digital, chaining us to our phones, our laptops, tablets and smart watches, it is too easy to get sucked into comparing real lives to the gilded successes of our peers on social media.

Time in the woods offers respite, time to think and recollect ourselves. The reduced cortisol and blood pressure that results leaves us more relaxed, happier and generally more pleasant to be around. Not to mention the huge social benefits that come from making real life connections and the great sense of shared achievement that comes from completing a challenging group task.
