I am pleased to announce that I have agreed dates for our Summer Scheme in Canal Woods.
To say that this is exciting is a real understatement because Canal Woods is a really lovely woodland regeneration area that was opened up in the early 2000s. It was planted back then with a variety of native trees and other fauna and is managed almost exclusively by a dedicated team of volunteers.
It is a beautiful, secluded site, that sports a wide range of wood and marshland wildlife in the local area.
Summer Scheme – 22/7 – 26/8
This is a scheme for 10 to 14-year olds that will run throughout the last full week of July, from 10am – 3pm every day.
In it your child will take part in a range of woodland activities.
Included will be:
- shelter building,
- campfire cooking,
- tool use,
- knot tying
- and much more
Your child will also have the opportunity to learn to recognise a range of trees and fauna and pick up some valuable foraging knowledge.
This will be a great week that your child will remember for years to come.
The scheme will cost £20 per day or £90 for the whole week.
