Hi, I’m Thom and Strong Roots Forest School is my baby. I’m originally from England, where I was a teacher with over ten years’ experience working in and around education.
I have always had a deep love of nature and the outdoors and had become inspired by the concept and the ethos of forest schools. When my partner got offered work over here, it was the perfect opportunity to take on a new challenge and start my own forest school whilst staying home to look after our daughter.
I spent the last year training, studying and searching for suitable places to fun sessions and schemes and am now ready to bring Forest Schools to the Mournes and their surrounding area.
This is a really exciting project with a lot of really great feedback so far.
